5 Alternatives To Google AdSense

Google Adsense is possibly the most well known and most widely used advertising network by bloggers due to its simplicity and earning potential. Getting approved onto Adsense can sometimes be the biggest problem for bloggers with many people giving up on making money from their blog when they don’t get into Adsense.

If you fail to get approval to Google Adsense, don’t give up on your blogs earnings potential instead take a look into these 5 alternatives to Adsense:

1. Puxee.com: Puxee is a great alternative to Google Adsense. Puxee allows you to sell banner advertising directly to advertisers. The advantage of this over Adsense is that you can set a fixed monthly price for your ad space rather than relying on the variable amounts you receive through PPC networks. Puxee takes around 25% of the ad revenue that you generate but it is easier to sell ads through them than it is to contact advertisers and arrange the sale of advertising yourself. Many bloggers make thousands of dollars a month through direct banner sales.

2. Chitika: Chitika is a CPC network similar to Google Adsense. Chitika is good for two reasons. First, it always places relevant ads based on the content of your page, which helps you to get more clicks. Second, you can edit text color, URL color, border color to blend in with your blog format. They also have an affiliate program where you can earn a little extra on the side.

3. Infolinks: Infolinks is a well know in-line text advertising network. It mainly benefits blogs that have high traffic and is not very effective for low traffic sites. It is easy to setup and provides relevant ads to match your blogs content which helps you to increase the clicks and in turn your earnings. The advertising is only displayed when a user hovers over the ad text, so your visitors won’t get distracted by the ads and only see them when they want to see them.

4. Kontera: Kontera is another network similar to Infolinks but is better suited for very high traffic blogs. Kontera only seem to accept blogs that have very high page impressions. They are a well known network but they do seem to get a lot of mixed reviews.

5. Adbrite: For a long time Adbrite was seen as the closest competitor to Google Adsense and was the network of choice for most bloggers who got rejected by Adsense. They have had a bit of a revamp lately and are still a reliable alternative but many bloggers are reaching out to the new and improved networks that are available today.

Obviously the earnings potential of your blog depends on the amount of traffic to your blog. One of the easiest ways to increase your blogs earnings is to drive more traffic to your blog.

These are just a few of the networks that are available to you if your blog does not get accepted into Google Adsense or if you are not getting the results that you believe are possible from your blog.

I would love to hear which networks you use to monetize your blog as well as your thoughts on the networks outlined in this post.
